Lowering LDL Cholesterol Levels By Regularly Enjoying Seafood In Las Vegas

By Dorothy Kelly

According to health authorities, opting for a plant-based diet is perfect for fending off deadly heart disease. It's for the fact that it can help to lower the levels of bad or low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in the bloodstream. However, the addition of fish to the diet on a regular basis can be beneficial, too, because they are loaded with healthy fats. This is the reason why the consumption of seafood in Las Vegas is highly recommended by the heart experts.

LDL cholesterol is referred to as bad because of the fact that it can endanger a person's life. This waxy substance can hamper optimum blood circulation as it can accumulate inside the arteries. Experts say that having clogged arteries is something that can trigger a heart attack or stroke. It all depends on which arteries are affected the most.

Needless to say, it's a terrible idea for anyone to have elevated cholesterol levels in the bloodstream, which can be revealed by a simple blood test called lipid panel. People who are at risk of developing heart disease should do their best to avoid the problem. Definitely, those who are already suffering from heart disease should keep it from striking. Otherwise, they are likely to die prematurely.

Everyone knows that LDL cholesterol can be found primarily in food products obtained from animals. The likes of fatty pork and beef cuts tend to contain lots of it. There are also those that have only small amounts of bad cholesterol. Eating them all the time, however, can still cause some problems that have something to do with the heart.

This does not mean that all animal food products should be eliminated from the diet especially if the goal is to attain healthy levels of cholesterol. Actually, heart experts highly recommend regular intake of fish. The kinds that are deemed excellent for fending off elevated LDL cholesterol levels are fatty ones. Some very common examples of those are salmon, trout, mackerel, herring and sardines.

These types of fish are loaded with what's referred to as omega-3 fatty acids. Basically, they are fats with health-giving properties. What makes them revered by doctors is the fact that they are scientifically-proven to reduce the levels of LDL in the bloodstream. If you're told by your primary health care provider that you have elevated blood cholesterol, then you may consider them as your best friends.

Omega-3 fatty acids are also admired for their ability to fend off inflammation. According to heart experts, inflammation can damage the walls of the arteries, and this can encourage clogging to take place. Needless to say, omega-3 fatty acids are also very good for keeping the joints free of pain and swelling. Mental health professionals say that they are also effective for keeping anxiety and depression at bay.

Cardiologists say that 2 servings of fish should be added to one's diet per week in order to enjoy heart-related perks. Doing so is usually enough to encourage healthy levels of blood cholesterol. It is a must for the individual to cook fish without adding ingredients that are regarded as unhealthy.
